Description and objective: This COSHH 2002 assessor
training will enable the participants to carry out basic health
risk assessments within the workplace. The delegates will consider
health surveillance, occupational monitoring, control measures,
suitability and available record keeping systems. The course updates
assessment requirements from the 1999 regulations. This 1 day course
includes lunch, coffee and refreshments and will run from 9:30
to 15:30.

Agents (Vibration) Directive (Directive 2002/44) deals with the
control of diseases caused by vibration at work from equipment,
vehicles and machines.
Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) is a major cause of occupational ill
health. Each year, approximately 3,000 new claims for Industrial
Injury Disability Benefit are made in relation to vibration white
finger and vibration related carpal tunnel syndrome.

Description and objective: Occupational Asthma
can be a serious problem. More than 200 substances have been reported
as triggers for occupational asthma. In the western world, it
is thought than 200,000 people suffer from occupational asthma,
and a further 500,000 have asthma that may be made worse by their
job. Occupational asthma is a common cause of work-related illness.
This half day seminar discusses respiratory sensitisers in the
workplace.
